Consultation and health assessment involves a thorough physical exam by one of our vets. Have you noticed any stiffness, poor coat quality, lump or bumps? Be sure to bring this up during the consultation. If you have noticed your pet slowing down this is the time to discuss options with the vet!
Blood and urine testing – blood and urine testing is a great way to diagnose underlying health issues even BEFORE you can see clinical signs. Unfortunately, our older patients are prone to diseases such as liver and kidney issues which if caught early can lead to much better treatment options and outcomes.
Nail clip – as our dogs age they are often less active and are less likely to wear their nails down naturally, therefore they often need their nails clipped to allow good alignment of their paws. Did you know our feline friends shed their claw sheaths. As they age they can find it harder to shed these claw sheaths leading to very sore ingrown nails. Regular nail checks and nail clips if needed are very important for our older fury friends.
